Took a one-day trip to Yingge, a town famous for its ceramic and porcelain products. We went shopping for dishware replacement, and was dazzled by the sculptures displayed in this restaurant.  I later heard from a friend that it was nearly impossible to get in without reservation during the weekend.  Lucky for us, we visited the town on a weekday.

The Met has an impressive collection of arms and armor, but sadly it is not my thing. Some of the armor reminded me of torture chambers, a personal hell for anyone who wore that thing. 這整件事的發展真的是荒謬到一個令人傻眼的地步。 原本只是在Twitter上面跟著幫忙推訊息，但這幾天事情惡化的速度，以及苗栗縣政府鴨霸的程度，真的是讓我大開眼界。苗栗縣政府要強制徵收土地蓋科學園區，於法，的確是有『國家有權為了公益徵收人民的土地』一條。講白話一點，就是我要把你家拿走做其他用途。但蓋科學園區是公益? 評估標準到底在哪裡，你縣政府不給人民一個交代不打緊，但最起碼要跟那些家就要沒有的人講清楚。雙方在完全沒有取得共識的情況下，就逕自跑起『自以為是』的法律程序。發一個沒幾個人知道的通知說要徵收土地(默默耕耘狀)，貼上『自我感覺良好』的公告，然後再『理所當然』的派怪手上陣剷田。這又是什麼道理! 這些人不是無理取鬧，他們連基本談判和表達權都沒有，就要眼睜睜看著自己的土地被別人拿走，台北人，換做是你，你會怎麼做? 最奇妙的是，縣政府的網站字裡行間都透露著『咱們都已經解釋清楚了』訊息，

There are very few occassions that call for formal dress code in Taiwan. I stubbornly believe that one can pretty much show up anywhere with casual attire, like wearing denim to an opera, and nobody will bat an eye. It's been 5 days since Taiwan Association of University Professors (TAUP) Chairman Tsai Ting-kuei (蔡丁貴) started the sit-in hunger strike in front of the legislature.
